Enhancing Labour Market Intelligence for Vocational Education and Training
Erasmus+ KA2 Project
LMI4VET is an Erasmus+ project focused on improving the use of Labour Market Intelligence (LMI) in Vocational Education and Training (VET) institutions. The project aims to equip VET providers with better tools and methodologies to understand labour market trends, skills demand, and future workforce requirements, ensuring a stronger alignment between education and employment needs.
Objectives
The LMI4VET project aims to support social partners in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) ecosystem by providing them with guidelines and training on how to effectively use labour market information (LMI). This will help them better design continuing training opportunities for individuals with fewer chances in the job market.
Key goals of the project include improving the employability of vulnerable groups, aligning VET programs more closely with current labour market needs, and fostering a more responsive and informed VET system that can adapt to economic shifts.
LMI4VET is a collaboration between ten partners—five research institutions and five social partners. The project will start by analysing existing LMI tools from EU initiatives to determine how they can be applied in the VET context. Based on survey results from the target audience, a methodological guide will be co-developed. Following this, partners will jointly design training content for an online course, accompanied by an AI-powered chatbot. Both tools will be tested and validated across Europe.
The project will deliver two main outputs:
- A methodological guide on using LMI for VET planning.
- Interactive training resources, including a multilingual online course and AI chatbot to help social organisations effectively use labour market data to support people with fewer opportunities.
These materials will be available in English, Spanish, Romanian, French, and German, and hosted on the project’s website.
Project Outputs
Work Package 1: Management Activities
This WP focuses on the coordination and administration of the project. Each partner manages specific tasks, with PROSPEKTIKER as the lead, overseeing monitoring and evaluation. Regular virtual meetings, collaborative tools, and ISO 9001-certified systems ensure efficient communication, budget control, and progress tracking. A structured quality assurance plan is in place, with clear indicators and regular evaluations. Communication is centralized via MS Teams and supported by a multilingual, transparent website. Evaluation is continuous, using surveys and interviews to assess impact and guide improvements.
Work Package 2: Methodological Guide for VET Planning
This WP aims to create a guide that helps social organisations tailor vocational training to labour market needs, especially for vulnerable groups.
- Activity 1: Identification of effective LMI/VET tools across Europe.
- Activity 2: Country-specific and overall analysis of how social entities use LMI.
- Activity 3: Drafting a methodological guide with key elements such as LMI sources, metrics, and practical examples.
- Activity 4: Pilot testing the guide in various EU regions to collect feedback.
- Activity 5: Finalization of the guide to enhance VET planning for at-risk populations.
Work Package 3: Interactive Self-Training Materials
This WP focuses on developing training tools for professionals supporting vulnerable groups.
- Activity 1: Creation of training content based on the methodological guide.
- Activity 2: Conversion of this content into an accessible online course.
- Activity 3: Development of an AI-based chatbot to assist users with LMI-related questions.
- Activity 4: Validation of all materials to ensure relevance and alignment with project goals.
Work Package 4: Dissemination
The objective is to effectively communicate the project’s progress and outcomes to key audiences.
- Activity 1: Creation of a dissemination plan and toolkit.
- Activity 2: Launch of a project website to host all resources.
- Activity 3: Promotion of project results through partner networks.
- Activity 4: National conferences in each partner country to present outcomes.
- Activity 5: Development of an exploitation plan to ensure sustainability and long-term use of results.
