Implementing a set of indicators applied in youth monitoring
In Europe there are approximately about 300 to 400 regional labour market observatories that generate data periodically to ensure transparency in the regional labor markets. To support the work of regional labour market observatories the Initiative Networking European Labour Market Observatories started the first project. This is addressed to all regional labour market observatories which have a youth monitor. Youth monitoring is now important in many European regions. Especially after the crisis youth unemployment has increased significantly and employment for young people has become a bigger and difficult issue.
The first project within the Initiative Networking European Labour Market Observatories provides a set of indicators which is to evaluate implemented in youth monitoring. This shall help all labour markt observatories which work with youth monitors by building a data stock on this topic. Thus, this project aims to find synergies to develop jointly concepts and implementation.
All observatories who are interested are invited to to explore and test indicators for measuring youth employment and unemployment in regions or localities. The results of the experiences in evaluating and improving the set of indicators will be collected, analyzed and presented on this website as well as on the European Day 2011. It shall support all observatories working with youth monitors.
